The Handoff

One thing experience teaches you quickly:

A lot of failures don’t start inside teams.
They show up at the handoff.

Product to engineering.
Engineering to operations.
Deal team to integration.

It’s where context gets thin.
Ownership gets blurry.
And accountability starts looking for somewhere to hide.

Too often it turns into a drop-and-dash.

This is not food delivery.

If the handoff breaks, the work upstream barely matters.
Failure just moves downstream.

So don’t avoid the handoff.

Even if you’re not the most senior person in the room.
Even if it technically is not your job.

CATCH.

THE.

FUCKING.

BALL.

I’ve never said “that’s not my job.”
And most of the operators I respect haven’t either.
